Hot Spiced Apple Cider

It is really hard to improve upon apple cider, but where is the fun if you don’t try? Here in the San Francisco North Bay we are blessed with Gravenstein apples and it is very hard to beat those, however, since everyone has a favorite,

I decided to make this recipe generic and begin with a premade apple cider.

Add to that some fresh apple slices, a bit of sugar, allspice and fresh cinnamon sticks and you’ve got a winner. Now for you adults out there that need just a little something extra, just add in a squeeze of lemon and a splash of whiskey to transform this into a late evening treat.
