Crockpot baked beans

Recently I have been using the crock pot a lot for not only dinners but also desserts and side dishes. So when I ran across a southern style baked bean recipe for the crock pot, I couldn’t wait to try it. Like every recipe I find, the first thing that I attempt to do is tweak it to bring out more flavors or try to add a bit of heat to it.

Now I’m a firm believer that any southern dish needs a bit of heat, so I found that adding just a little bit of chili powder does the trick very well for this particular side. The flavor in this dish is amazing and sticks to the ribs like baked beans should. Now you can use any flavor of bbq sauce you like, but I went with Heinz Memphis style as it is my favorite store brand. If you need a little more sweetness, add a tablespoon of molasses.
